World U.P. Foundation is a Charitable Organization (also known as a non-profit or a not for profit organization) organized under the laws of the State of Virginia, and is an exempt Organization described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service of the U.S. Federal government. Individuals, Businesses, and any other Entity who make donations to support and further the mission of World site. By using the World U.P. website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Our Commitment

World U.P. Foundation, (doing business as World U.P., Mobile Produce Pantry, and www.worldupfoundation.org), also referred to as the Organization, is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information of our donors, members, employees, and other stakeholders. Protecting your private information is our priority.

We value the trust of those we deal with, and of the public, and recognize that maintaining this trust requires that we be transparent and accountable in how we treat the information that you choose to share with us. During the course of our various programs and activities, we frequently gather and use personal information. Anyone from whom we collect such information should expect that it will be carefully protected and that any use of or other dealing with this information is subject to consent. Our privacy practices are designed to achieve this.

Why We Collect Personal Information

The collection and use of Personal Information is important to our operations, because it allows us to collect the data we need to better understand the type of people that support our mission. This knowledge allows us to market to other people who might be interested in joining our community to build programming that facilitates access in our communities.

Defining Personal Information

Personal information is any information that can be used to distinguish, identify, or contact a specific individual. This information can include an individual’s opinions or beliefs, as well as facts about, or related to, the individual. Exceptions: business contact information and certain publicly available information, such as names, addresses and telephone numbers as published in telephone directories, are not considered personal information. We do not consider the acknowledgement of an individual’s name in a donor category in our annual report or other donor recognition materials to be personal information. Donors are offered the opportunity to make their contribution anonymously in all solicitation materials.
Where an individual uses his or her home contact information as business contact information as well, we consider that the contact information provided is business contact information, and is not therefore subject to protection as personal information.

Privacy Practices

Personal information gathered by our organization is kept in confidence. Our personnel are authorized to access personal information only based on their need to deal with the information for the reason(s) for which it was obtained. Safeguards are in place to ensure that the information is not disclosed or shared more widely than is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was gathered. We also take measures to ensure the integrity of this information is maintained and to prevent it from being lost or destroyed.

We collect, use, and disclose personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in light of the circumstances. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise share our mailing lists. However, if at any time you wish to be removed from our mailing list, simply use the unsubscribe feature of our e-mail or send a written request to info@worldupfoundation.org. Please allow 15 days to allow us to update our records accordingly.

Scope of Application

This Statement of Privacy governs data collection and usage of personal information within World U.P Foundation (aka World U.P. and Mobile Produce Pantry) via our websites, donation page, and in the daily activities of our programs.

The World U.P. website was created to help educate the public about the mission, vision, and programs of our Organization. Additionally, the website is a way for the Organization to collect donations and create income streams that are used to directly benefit the public by supporting the programs that we create and operate.

What We Collect

The Organization may collect personally identifiable information, such as your:

– Mailing Address
– E-mail Address
– Phone Number

If you purchase World U.P.’s products and services, we collect billing and credit card information. This information is used to complete the purchase transaction.

World U.P. may also collect anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your:

We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to use certain products or services:

Right to Deletion

From time to time, World U.P. may contact you via email for the purpose of providing announcements, promotional offers, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and/or other general communication. In order to improve our Services, we may receive a notification when you open an email from World U.P. or click on a link therein.
